Tongue cancer: How long is the process from treatment to recovery?

Posted by earlenhaven @earlenhaven, Aug 14 7:31am

I have been diagnosed with tongue cancer. Lesions about 1 1/2' long and 1/2' deep under the left side of my tongue. I still teach for a living. How long is the shortest recovery that anyone has had?

What is the plan to remove these lesions?

@earlenhaven Just want to clarify. It was 2 months after the whole thing was over to feel better? How long was entire process?

My husband had tonsil and 1 lymph node affected, tonsil removed the as he was in a clinical trial,15 radiation treatments and 4 cisplatin infusions. It probably took about 2 months after treatments to feel ok again. It's tough but you can do it. Keep a good supply of ensure, this helps when appetite isn't too good. Hope you heal well and fast.
