TKR 3 months out & struggling. Anyone try x10 or other therapy?
Three months after TKR and had a manipulation due to scar tissue. Stiffness and pain is still there and I’m really struggling. I am committed to doing my assigned exercises at home and I go to PT three times a week. I’m hurting and feeling very down. Has anyone tried something different that has worked such as X 10? I don’t want to be a person that falls for gimmicks or snake oil, but I’m in a lot of pain and feel like I need to try something different to move forward. Any good experiences you have that helped pain & stiffness will be much appreciated. Thank you.

The struggle is real with stiffness/tightness. I am almost 6 months post op and still have some stiffness, mainly at night and first thing in the mornings for at least a couple hours.
I bought stationary bike pedals and use them several times a day. I split the pedaling forward and backward, doing like this has helped with my bending and extention.

1 ReactionI’m 3 1/2 out. Stiffness and tightness were much better and minimal pain with 130’ bend. I’m 75. BUT I knelt on it yesterday and I’m back to where I was several weeks ago with stiffness and aching. So I learned my lesson! Hoping it will work itself out! Be patient. Some say it’ll take 6 mos to a year. I’m getting my walking back. Up to 1.5 miles daily. PT said to only increase distance 10% per week or it will stress my knee.
I've had both my knees replaced, the second one about a year ago. On both knees, I've needed to continue daily elevating my knee above the level of my heart for a few months after. That means laying down and propping up your foot on the surgery leg. On some days, I did it three times a day. I sometimes did it with ice on it. I continued a whole battery of stretching and lifting my leg with ankle weights to strengthen the quad. I'm 71 and I walk about three miles a day. The knee surgery is now healed and I have issues with other parts of my knee. But nothing really bothersome. Everybody seems to have different recovery times. Be patient with yourself.

I am three months out and my ROM is only at 90. Not much pain unless I am doing PT.
I’m getting pressure to do a manipulation. I concerned about the procedure because my TKR wasn’t text book and my surgeon and associates really left me in the dark about therapy difficulties I might realize. Mega swelling, and a skin infection that left my
Incision drooling fluid for weeks!
