Tingling and numbness in my feet at night
I have tingling and numbness in my feet at night in bed. Is this neuropathy?
I do have spinal stenosis. Is that what is causing the tingling in my feet?

Have you seen a doctor? I have Spinal Stenosis and Polyneuropathy. In my case the tingling and numbness in my feet is caused by the neuropathy. Doctors don’t see a connection between the spinal stenosis and the neuropathy.
Hi @elisabeth1, The symptoms you describe can be neuropathy of some sort but they can also have many different causes. I also would recommend discussing it with your doctor. You are not alone with the tingling and numbness in your feet at night. Many of us have posted in other discussions if you want to learn what others have shared while you wait for responses. My numbness is worse at night - feels like two layers of duct tape wrapped around my feet whereas during the day it's more like one layer just on the bottom of my feet 😀
At night it’s worse but tolerable. Is this neuropathy? I have an electric shiatzu foot massager that really helps. My doctor said it’s from my spinal stenosis.
Thank you so much! My doctor said it’s from my spinal stenosis. I’ll read the comments you sent me.
My doctor said the tingling is nerve related and probably due to spinal stenosis.
Dear @elisabeth1 and every one,
I have & use nemnbess (sp?) on my right foot. I get it by sitting one on a large chair in my kichten (sp?) when reading & using my my email. If I leave (sp?) it a few minutes, my healing turns off on my right-foot. I need to wake it up by not falling down. I certainly use my 4-circles (sp?) - I can’t say the right thing inside my brain -sorry. And run it to move I need.
Sleeping is good and when I wake up my balance is pretty decent, until I wake up more and my balance is not working back.
7 mths ago I needed a surgery from spinal back on the bottom of my back and top of my rear-enfd. Wii pain was going I l9ved that. Bad-balance was still there. Dairy I help my body my streching (sp?) from end of my legs; lifting my top of my legs and top of my Bach. I’ve dine this for decades - as a normal person before my accident 12 yrs ago.
Thx,
Greg D. @greg56xx
Thank you for your detailed reply and your effort to reach out. You are very kind. I will read what you have sent. Have a happy holiday!
But someone on this thread said hers left side pain is from herniated discs which I have too so maybe that’s it!
@elisabeth1
It could be neuropathy and stenosis. I have both. You may want to see a neurologist for small fiber neuropathy testing like skin punch biopsy which is gold standard. If you have it, you would want to treat the underlying cause if it can be identified. Mine is idiopathic where they don’t know the cause. I take supplements for neuropathy and they help. There are also nerve pain creams and suggestions for wearing compression socks at night to help you sleep and not be awakened by nerve pain/sensations.
