Three months post first MTP fusion — toes worsening, side-to-side step

Posted by bee9 @bee9, Mar 14 8:34pm

I’m three months out from my first MTP (big toe) fusion. I've noticed my symptoms have been progressively worsening over the past few weeks. My lesser toes are floppy from a prior foot surgery and don’t support my weight. I can only walk side-to-side. Walking more than a short time causes rubbing, curling, bleeding, and groin and hip flare-ups. I’m afraid to put on a shoe and haven’t left my bedroom for a week because of this. Has anyone experienced this? What specific steps or routines helped you safely regain walking or strength?
