This and That and Talk - My Transplant
As our Mayo Connect community grows, I am constantly meeting organ transplant members on a wide variety of forums with a wide range of issues that are not directly transplant specific. However, because we are all transplant recipients, we have a special connection: a unique journey and best of all - a new life! We don't always need help or advice. Many times we just want to chat with someone like us! That is my purpose in starting This and That and Talk.
Drop in and say 'Hi'. You are welcome anytime.
What do you want t to talk about? What words can you offer to someone who is on the journey? Do you have any questions for another recipient?

Thank you when I showed some about it they where how come no one told us. So i know how it helped me . God bless Jerry
Hi @jerrydrennan, thanks for the alert. This is a bad news good news story. Bad news is that there were no Connect brochures when you were at the Gift of Life House. Good news because in July my colleague hand delivered a massive stack of literature. Looks like they've run out. Bad news that the desk attendant didn't know about Connect. Good news because now she does. Hearing about Connect from a patient carries more weight than hearing about it from me. Extra special good news, other patients and family know about Connect because of you. THANK YOU. Community grows one person at a time. Nothing better than word of mouth.
I will notify my colleague and we'll get a new supply of literature over there asap.
@jerrydrennan are there any by the mailboxes? There were when we were there in July, but they may be gone by now.
Blessings,
JoDee
@jerrydrennan Congratulations on your transplant! I am happy for you and your wife.
Thank you for doing what you are doing to support Connect at Gift of Life House. Thank you for notifying us about the need for literature replacements.
@colleenyoung
This jerrydrennan I have been at the gift of life house since I was transplant on sept19. I have not noticed any papers mentioned the connect. I have made some friends and they do not now about connect until me. The desk attendant does not know about connect but asked how ti get some literature. So I am reaching out help.
@contentandwell Yes, I agree that both the children and parents must develop a tremendous amount of strength.
@hopeful33250 Beautiful and so touching. Having a child with a health problem is so heart wrenching. I am always impressed with how strong children like this are.

Great idea, Rosemary!
Teresa, Even though it features children who are waiting for transplants, the message is universal.
I am going to share it with my girlfriend who is deaf. She is a member of our prayer shawl ministry, and ministers to our local deaf community.
@rosemarya
I felt the same way when I first saw it, Rosemary. It is very touching.
