The Benefit of Cocoa in Anxiety Treatment

Posted by mbabkk @mbabkk, Jul 2, 2018

I am under treatment for anxiety by a Mayo trained neurologist in bangkok where I live. My medication is Ativan 0.5 taken “ needed “ supplemented by Inderal 5 mg x 2 daily - it is working well but what’ve wanted to add was his amazing third “medication “ on which he has his PhD “ Cocao”. It iswidely known that dark chocolate benefits “ happiness “ but I was not aware that a highly trained doctor would put it as part of my treatment. It Does wonders - I do not eat chocolate but buy pure cocoa powder and drink 2-3 cups a day. I am surprised but research confirm that there are 45 + positive ingredients in cocoa to give you a better life. - I suggest you try but please stay away from milk chocolate as it does not work according to research - good luck

This is very interesting to me! Can you tell us what brand of cocoa you use and do you just mix it in milk?

That is another way - many people do not like that kind of powerful chocolate why drinking cocao is east - but yes you get the benefits - thank you for sharing

The brand i buy is a Dutch brand but repacked for the Thailand market so the name wold not make sense - my suggestion would be to stay away from the high end chocolate producers and find a local source in a farmers market -.the key is non sugar cocoa powder - I boil with water and the add unhealthy condenced milk to give a little more volume and then use palm sugars to get back sweetness
