Tarlov Cyst on the spine: Any advice?

Posted by vadaanglin @vadaanglin, Jan 31, 2019

I have a large tarlov cyst 2.5cm and 3.5cm on the spine in the lumbar region. Some what rare and doctors seem to know little about and say they are nonproblematic. I'm having chronic pain. Any advise will be appreciated.

Dr Witham at John’s Hopkins works on them. I am going in January for a consult. If any place knows what to do it should be John’s Hopkins.

Hi I recently found out I have the cysts on my cervical spine that is causing me issues and I am trying to get an appointment with him as well. Have you had yours yet and did he seem useful for what you are going through?

@j0y hello 👋🏻 thanks for the reply! im honestly not doing to good. There’s even more stuff happening in my health like neoplasms on reproductive organs… need to see the movement neurologist and geneticist… my chest wall is compressing my heart have mild pulmonary hypertension now… but I’m trying to take one step at the time, it’s been really difficult to make surgery decisions and other stuff unable to work and pay for my medical necessities…

Blessings of health 🙏🏻🤍

Hi I have been helping my mother following a lumbar fusion. While in the waiting room met 2 ladies whose husbands were having surgery for that very thing. They were from out of town. I cannot for the life of me remember the surgeon but he was very sought after. Which is why they came all the way to Texas for the surgery. It was at the Texas spine hospital medical city Dallas. Apparently the doctor specializes in the tarlov cyst. I will try and find out his name. One had come from colorado the other from Nebraska. Sorry I don’t have more information than this.

I'm assuming he's the only one? I've came across his name on Google & actually on TikTok. He's almost 4 hours away from me 😭 He's in Dallas & I live in Shepherd, Tx. I'll call to see if he has a closer office around me. Thank you for reaching out.

He is one of the few experts in the country. Others are in Sacramento and Philly. There’s one in LA as well. Though he’s not next door, Feigenbaum is closest to you for sure!
