Tapering off Cymbalta with Seroquel
Has anyone tapered off Cymbalta with Seroquel? On Cymbalta almost 20 years. 120 mg. Starting to taper with (adding) 25 mg quetiapine tomorrow.

Yes, I'm into week 3 with no Cymbalta after tapering over 6 months (I couldn't get a lower script that 60mg so I opened the capsule and poured out half, for 2 months, then 2/3 for a month, then a 3rd if I got brain zaps). I also tapered off Seroquel from 600mg over 2 years (dropped the XR 200mg - som sleeplessness, then dropped to 300mg 2 months later, then halved the 200mg for 2 months, then halved one of the halves to a dose of 75mg for 2 weeks, then got a script for 100mg and halved that, for 3 weeks, and am now on 25mg at night and plan to try to halve that in the next week - a pill cutting has been helpful). I plan to be off this drug in a fortnight after being on it for 10 years. I was originally diagnosed with BP2, but looking back it was more likely due to undiagnosed psoriatic arthritis inflammation causing fatigue, with a life-altering injury, bad marriage and early menopause. Anyway, Seroquel made me crazy, and clumsy, cost me jobs due to poor cognitive function and forgetfulness, and massive weight gain which affected all my joints. Cymbalta caused restless leg syndrome which I only discovered the cause of after stopping it. My head is much clearer and my memory is coming back. I am slowly losing weight as I do not binge eat at night and my appetite is normal again.
Drs do not want people to stop taking these drugs or help them wean off. I just took the minimum dose I could to stave off withdrawal symptoms.
If you are on 25mg of seroquel and are not psychotic or bipolar 1, don't take a higher dose. The side effects are terrible from my experience and everyone I have spoken to. It made me a zombie.
