Taking amitriptyline for neuropathy?
Hi, everyone, I take amitriptyline & tramadol for my issues with neuropathy, does anyone have advice on dealing with the side effects?

The alpha Lipoic acid, Acetyl l carnitine, melatonin and magnesium have all helped me and believe you can take them with amitriptyline (I was on this medication a short time). The capsaicin nerve pain cream also helped my feet when they burned. It takes a while for it to work and you want to wash your hands afterwards so you don’t irritate your eyes, etc.
Best wishes to you on getting some relief at night so you can sleep.
god bless us all with reversal.
no problem sleeping

I started on Amitriplyline 25 mg but didn't like the sedation effect when I woke, so I switched to Nortriptyline 10 mg and with very little sedation, much improved, been taking it for a couple years now, works great for me, calms my neuropathy, I sleep better, and have steady energy during the day vs. waking with the sedation while taking Amitriptyline 25 mg. You may want to discuss with your doctor. Good luck!
Thank you for that information.
