Anyone taking Tagrisso for Lung Cancer?

@lala56 Thank you for sharing what side effects you are experiencing on Tagrisso. I have also noticed a couple of little cracks in the skin on my hands recently and will load 'em up with moisturizer. Aside from swelling around the ankles and a slight rash in that area, as well, I don't feel sick. The problems I had in the beginning of not being able to swallow easily and no appetite have passed. Now I need to make sure that I'm eating nourishing food and not just consuming calories to keep from losing weight. One of the things I have each morning is my Metamucil - 2 tablespoons of powder dissolved in a cup of water. That way, I'm not straining to poop and the bowel movement comes out much easier. Plus, Metamucil has psyllium husk that helps lower LDL cholesterol, which I've been working at. So far, so good. You sound like you have a fine medical team, and that means so much with what you're going through. Don't you just want to hug them all? Take care. All the best to you with your care.

@tedvoelker You're right on with that comment. Grateful that you replied. Regardless of how I got it, I've got Lung Cancer and I need to do whatever I can to stay as healthy and active as possible, hopefully extending my time on Earth a little with the Tagrisso, which I started in early December. Thank you for reminding me of that fact. I hope you are doing well, too. Feel free to send me any other words you think I could use to improve my perspective.

@firefly33 Thank you. I see the doctor tomorrow, 1/14, for a follow up. I hope my cell counts are okay. I've only been on tagrisso for 11 days and had my 1st chemo on Jan.2. I was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer about a month ago with metastases to the bone and brain. I got radiation on my head where there was a painful bump, that now has gone down.

@kedim Stage 2B NSLC. Non smoker too, routine chest Xray showed my diagnosis.
I've been on Tagrisso since November 8, 2025. I've also been tolerating well so far but just a week ago I noticed very mild swelling in my ankles too inspire of being active. Also I have been having tenderness on my fingertips and at times have skin cracks. Putting vaseline and moisturizing cremes through the day helps out. Weirdly enough, Ive noticed reddish smears on the tissue after a BM. It is red fresh blood, very mild. I think the skin dryness from Tagrisso is affecting different skin areas including there. So I'll avoid having constipation to prevent this fresh bleeding. PCP is aware and monitoring labs for anemia. It's good to be proactive with your care. I look at my medical team in a collaborative way. All the best on your care.

@kedim I too had never smoked and also read about radon gas. I ordered the kits and tested our basement and bedroom, both results were so low they were not factors. It’s difficult to say why I’m dealing with this but in the end it doesn’t matter now just getting through this disease keeping it at bay and even trying to cure it. U do understand your desire to find out as I had done. At least you can put a check on your list of causes. Best of luck going forward.

I have been diagnosed with Stage IV NSCMLC, and I've been on Tagrisso, 80mg, for just over a month. So far I've been tolerating it okay. I do have some light swelling in the feet & ankles so I am trying to be more active and drink plenty of water, which I hope helps. Given my diagnosis, I don't feel sick, except for this nagging cough, which drove me to see a doctor in the first place. I've never been a smoker! But recently I saw an article and information about radon as a possible cause of lung cancer. My old condo sure looks like a good candidate, so I ordered a radon testing kit. I don't stand a chance of improvement if I'm living in a place that literally makes me sick, right?
Because of the cancer and Tagrisso, I just started infusions of Zometa, which should help with maintaining bone health. Those infusions are every 28 days. I have to have a blood panel the day prior to each. I feel like my body belongs to the medical community, with so many lab and doctor appointments!

I am currently only on Tagrisso and will have my three-month follow-up soon. I’m glad to hear the side effects have been mild so far and that the Imodium helped. Overall, the side effects from Tagrisso have been mild and well tolerated. Wishing you continued tolerance and strength as you move forward.

@fivec That's wonderful! Even with a dire diagnosis, it doesn't mean there isn't hope. They are constantly developing new and better treatments.

@firefly33 I just started Tagrisso 80 mg on Jan. 3, 2026. I had minor diarrhea for a half an hour and took 2 imodium that was prescribed by the oncologist. That was that. I go for a follow up on the 14th and next chemo on the 23rd.
