Tagrisso and diarrhea

Posted by franciekid @franciekid, Aug 29, 2023

I’ve been taking Tagrisso for about 6 weeks and with the exception of about 4 days in the 4th week, have had diarrhea every day. Anyone else? Thanks.

Good Morning!

My experience is yes, that's how it starts. From what I hear, for everyone. There were times I was taking 2 Imodium a day.

However, it got better over time, dropping back to 1 a day and then stopping them altogether.

One month short of 3 years later, and I'm taking a tablespoon of Metamucil every morning to stay regular!

Wait until your nails start splitting in your sleep. OK, maybe not quite that bad. Today I'm taking 5 mg of Biotin daily, which has greatly reduced the nail-splitting tendency.

Wishing you all the best,
Matthew

Are you on 80 mg? My onc dropped me to 40 mg because of hives. I have few side effects on 40 mg and it’s supposed to be as effective as 80 mg.

Yes, taking 80. No suggestion from my doc to cut the dose.
Thanks for sharing this.

As of last week, in addition to red patches on my cheeks, my palms have been intensely itchy. Have 2 scripts for cortisone cream in 2 different strengths. Anyone else? Thanks.

@franciekid, is the cortisone cream helping? How are you doing?

Yes, cortisone cream is helpful. Palms no longer itchy. Redness on cheeks is sporadic. Thanks for asking. Doing well.
