Symptoms of final days of metastatic prostate bone cancer

Look for metastatic nature of disease. Tumor metastasis affects that organ’s function & symptoms are associated with that organ failure. Plus generalized body chemistry will be affected and symptoms associated.

dsle: As a layman, I think most know that pain can be associated with bone cancer. You might want to make sure that your doctor is prepared to minimize pain for you as you progress such that it is managed and controlled as best as possible while allowing those that love you and yourself to spend time with those that you care for.

Some people have suggested asking palliative care or hospice care as these people work with the ins and outs of death every day. Your cancer doctors/team should be able to give you some guidance as well.

I have run across https://imermanangels.org/find-mentor-angel/ online and they find someone to talk with you who has had cancer "similar" to yours and maybe they can help.

Its a horrible thought process but if it was me, just like cancer treatment research, I would be looking for professionals that are experts in death and cancer.

My advice: make sure that your life has been made right with God so that you can embrace the “peace that passes all understanding“ That he (God) offers to all of us through Jesus Christ his son! You would be amazed at how much peace and comfort that will give you going forward!🙏🏻

My guy has metastatic stage 4 prostate cancer in bones and lymph ! Since Nov 30 2022 has done chemo 6 months ! Of this crap ! Gets Lupron shots 3 months at a time ! Started xgena shots for bone ! I pray it is helping ! 61 years old ! God bless u 🙏

I have Stage 4 aggresive prostate cancer with metastatic bone cancer and I don't want to know from anyone including the doctor when they think you are in the final stages. It's not 100% accurate it has no meaning to me. It doesn't exist in my mind. I have had radiation and robotic surgery to remove my prostate and any type of treatment available. Some have worked and others have not. I have accepted this as a chronic condition that I will have to deal with the rest of my life and it's not a death sentence. This fall I'm going on my 10th year of this disease and am looking forward to getting better in 2024. I'm 62 years old now and will NEVER accept anyone telling me it's over. Good luck and never accept defeat.

It is not prostate cancer specific but I found it useful to read when my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It helped me to be prepared. My father-in-law had metastatic prostate cancer and again we were better prepared as to what to expect. He had home hospice and we set up a hospital bed on the main floor so he could have a clear view through the picture window to the lake - the view for which he built the house.

Have you looked into palliative care and/or hospice options for when they are needed?
