Swyer James Macleod syndrome.
Has anyone here ever had this? I was 23 when my left lung collapsed from this rare disease and have never met another person who has it. I would like to see if they made a complete recovery and had no further lung issues. I am currently facing pulmonary fibrosis in both of my lungs now.

I have Swyer James syndrome also and had a spontaneous collapsed lung at age 23 as well but on the right side which is my healthier lung. Although I’ve had SJS since I was an infant I wasn’t diagnosed with it until I was in my 30’s. Total lung function is around 30%. I would say yes after my collapsed lung I eventually went back to what is my normal. I am 52 years old now and still live a fairly normal life except for the normal shortness of breath that I’ve dealt with my whole life. This disease is frustrating because of the rarity of it and not a lot of information. Happy to answer questions if you have more.
