Swelling after Salivary gland surgery

My 44 year old son had salivary gland surgery to remove gland and stone lodged under it. He still had another stone which doctor can not remove due to its position. Has anyone had this surgery and did you a lot of swelling and for how long?

I had salivary gland surgery in February, 2025. The swelling does go down, but it took months.
