Supplements for inflammation
Has anyone taken Curcumin Phystosome to help with inflammation? I have osteoporosis made worse from Reactive Arthritis and I also have a very high ferritin level. I’m also anemic, have hypothyroidism. I take Nexium 20 mg daily. At one time took 40 mg of Nexium 2 x daily. I take iron for the anemia. I take AlgaeCal Plus, Mannose Cranberry, Atorvastatin, Melatonin, lorazepam and biotin. I just started to take OsteoNaturals collagen.

We take turmeric 500mg 3 times daily for inflammation and follow an anti-inflammatory diet. I cannot take NSAIDS so turmeric does the trick.

3 ReactionsAny thoughts about oxidated stress- what supplements does anyone use for this and how effective have they been? Dr. McCormick NAC . Any one use and what dosage?
I would be very careful with NSAIDS. I know I take Fosamax which clearly states in its brochure that NSAIDS are not to be used when taking Fosamax because it can lessen the drugs effectiveness. I would check with the site drugs.com to see about contraindications. I am always wary about supplements and would advise to ask your physician before taking.

1 ReactionYour best bet is to follow an anti-inflammatory diet and beat inflammation at its source. If you’ve got the money you can waste it on unproven treatments but please be cautious.

2 Reactions@jenatsky my docs and I are cautious about supplements…they are not always what they say they are…and as we age, and various ailments arise, they can interact with necessary meds…that said, if someone is getting real benefits, great ! I’m currently trying a bone supplement my docs approved, at least for now…Check what you do with a trusted doc.

1 ReactionThe one supplement which I have seen that has some research behind osteoarthritis and inflammation is CartigenixHP.
Here is a general overview with xrays and the research paper available thru a general google search
https://calroy.com/product/cartigenix-hp/
Research hotlinked in this article:
https://drdebe.com/product/cartigenix-hp/
My husband and I both began cartigenix about 3 months ago; my husband did so after my pleadings; he seldom finds that any supplement is worth his time, and money. My husband noticed that the shooting daily pain in his bone/on/bone thumb stopped fairly quickly and has not returned. Plus, I came into the den one day and watched him raising and lowering himself repeatedly from the floor. I finally asked him what he was doing; he told me that he hadn't been able to do that in years without falling to the floor, and he just couldn't believe it.
I have a bone on bone knee, and though I can't say that I am seeing a huge difference, I am wondering if I can do without my every 6 month gel injection because the knee doesn't seem as bad.
I am going to ask for an xray in another few months and then we will see if there is any real difference in soft tissue.
But if the cartigenixhp just helps with inflammation then I consider that a huge positive.
