Sun exposure, Tanned this year.

Posted by paktoledo @paktoledo, Aug 4, 2023

I used 70 proff sunscreen this year, and I got a beautiful dark tan.
I am on Plaquenil! This has never happened beore.
Any ideas? No heat rashes.

Plaquenil can increase your risk of getting sunburn or more sensitivity to ultraviolet rays. I'm guessing maybe you have olive skin and tan easier and the Plaquenil exacerbated that. Hugs...

I have been on Plaquenil since 2017. I have never been out in the sun very often.
I am fair skinned...snow white.
I go to our pool for water aerobics and swimming. I took off of my protective top and started to tan. I sometimes use sunblock on my arms.
This is the first year I have tanned! But, I did it gradually.

That is very unusual. I don't know the answers to that. Enjoy your tan!

I make corpses look tan but I have noticed I tan easier rather than burn while on plaquinil. I only do short sessions outside though

Exactly, short periods of time! Thank you for writing! Pat
