Success after (6 session) BCG installation? Anyone?
I would like to know if anyone had success (this meaning no further tumors were discovered at the completion of the 6-session BCG installation) when they had their 3-month cystoscopy.
I have not yet completed the entire 6-session BCG treatment and while I realize that each person's situation is uniquely different, I am hoping I will be amongst those 60% who achieve effective results. Unfortunately, these insidious tumors keep appearing and we all wish for their banishment.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

I have not had a tumor since removal of first tumor and BCG treatments. That was over 20 years ago.
I hope you have the same success.

Thank you for your response and good wishes. I am sending mine as well.
I'm also NED (no evidence of disease) since my diagnosis and removal of original tumor 11/2021. Went through first 6 BCG's and 3 full years after those first 6. I thank God every day as I continue to stay tumor free🙏

Thank you for your response. It seems both you and @sandy811jakester are amongst those who are fortunate.
Since 5 additional tumors appeared only three months after my TURBT (they were small and the urologist burned them off and submitted one for biopsy) I am hoping the BCG immunotherapy works for me.
Sending best wishes.

2 ReactionsTURBT and first round (6) of BCG completed. 3-month follow-up with no evidence of tumors. Will start second round of BCG (3) after we get back from vacation in two weeks, followed by blue light cystoscopy. Hang in! It’s going to be a long journey for all of us, but there is hope!

I just had my 3rd BCG and my urologist said we must all remain hopeful. I will follow what you and he said.

The "blue light cystoscopy" sounds like a valuable tool and I appreciate your mentioning it. Since I had no knowledge of this, I looked it up and found the following information (in case anyone else in the group would like to know):
"Blue light cystoscopy differs from standard cystoscopy in several ways:
"Visual Enhancement: Blue light cystoscopy enhances the visibility of bladder tumors by using a photosensitizing agent called Cysview, which makes cancer cells glow bright pink under blue light."
"Detection of Smaller Tumors: The blue light mode allows for the detection of smaller tumors and lesions that may not be seen with standard white light cystoscopy."
"Reduced Recurrence Rates: Studies have shown that blue light cystoscopy can significantly reduce the rate of recurrence and progression of bladder cancer compared to standard cystoscopy."
"Improved Accuracy: The blue light mode provides a more accurate evaluation and removal of cancerous tissue, potentially reducing the need for total cystectomy."
"Follow-up Appraisal: Blue light cystoscopy allows for quicker follow-up after surgery or treatment, making it a more efficient diagnostic tool."
"These differences make blue light cystoscopy a valuable tool in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer, offering improved outcomes for patients."
