Subtalar joint fusion ankle surgery (brevis tendon rupture).

I have a complete rupture of my peroneal brevis tendon from severely rolling my ankle on the side of a hole in the ground. Conservative treatment has not helped at all. I've tried it and I discovered there are only two surgeries that can address this. The surgery that attaches one tendon to the other or the one I mentioned above which is two screws going from the top and from underneath. This ladder surgery immobilizes the side-to-side movement of my heel but promises to be the best to address my current situation .I believe I have an excellent surgeon but I am afraid with two metals screws going into my foot. Has anyone had this type of surgery? If so, what was your recovery like. I have to be 2 months non-weight-bearing and then another month in a boot.
