Subchondral insufficiency fracture right femor

Hi, just diagnosed with MRI “Subchondral insufficiency fracture of the anterosuperior right femoral head” I have no pain but am on crutches. The doctor said it could go either way in terms of healing and is suggesting surgery. Has anyone else gone through this? Many thanks on advance!
