Stopping Metformin
I’ve been on Metformin for 7 years for type 2. Was taking 750 mg extended release. Six months ago I started Mounjaro. My A1C went from 6 to 5.3. My doc lowered my Metformin to 500 mg but in my recent A1C I’m at 4.3 and it’s now too low. I I’ll discuss with my doctor of course but it seems likely she will discontinue Metformin. Anyone experience this while on both drugs?

It's generally good news when you can cut a medicine, but I wonder which one. I didn't think they'd prescribe a major medicine for an A1C of 6 - unless you were also hoping to lose some weight and improve things that way too.
When I was just starting I went down from insulin and Metformin to Jardiance and Metformin, and then to just Metformin, which has kept my A1C in the 5's ever since - along with diet and exercise.
So with both drugs going, have you been losing weight? Have you also made any dietary changes recently?
It's a funny kind of suggestion but if your A1C is too low you can always eat a couple of cookies for dessert, once or twice a day!
Do you take blood glucose readings during the day, and how have those been going?
Maybe with an improved diet (and exercise) you could stay on the Metformin and discontinue the Mounjaro? You could even take a little more Metformin, if that would optimize the results.
