Stomach pain
It all started with a tiny pain in my stomach area, ignored it for two months than grew a little concerned, went to Dr had a CT scan w/o contrast, everything seemed fine. Went about my life made some changes to diet with no change. 1 month after CT i was mowing grass and hit a bump and it gave me a horrible pain in the mid right side abdominal area, the next day it was difficult to walk without guarding my stomach, pain would incapacitate me at time, went back to Dr, order colonoscopy that came back fine, endoscopic came back fine, meanwhile I’ve lost 20 LBS within 4 months, this condition also brought out rosacea on my face, something I’ve never had before all of this. Was treated for SIBO but i think i was mistreated due to not given the right antibiotics for the SIBO with high methane. My GI Dr looks at me like I’m crazy I’m losing about 1/2 LB a week while still consuming over 1000 calories daily. Second CT scan done with contrast showed a list of potential stuff, but once again GI DR wasn’t impressed with the scan and still doesn’t know what’s wrong. 🤷♀️ Sorry this was so long.

@susan1974 - Have you been tested for celiac disease? Came to think of celiac when you mentioned weight loss, abdominal pain and rosacea.
I had really bad stomach pain, can’t eat couldn’t drink so I went to the ER they ran tests on me and said I was medically fine. But I was very dehydrated. They gave me a iv and anti nausea. Today I can’t eat still, I can drink a little and I made a doctors appointment on zoom. The doctor said I most likely have a stomach infection. I feel like it’s not that because I’ve had the stomach flu and it never felt like this. I’m in constant pain my stomach aches and I get waves of intense nausea and discomfort. I’m only 17 and I’m very scared. Please give me advice.
Hello....am sure someone will be answering you soon... I just noticed your post and that you are so young to be having these problems. Sometimes it takes a while and a few more symptoms/tests to diagnose pain... when I was younger I had awful pain from an ulcer somewhere around the stomach area but in those days they never told you results of tests etc...so maybe keep track in a diary of when pain started, what you were doing, ate, drank, tests etc., as sometimes it could be a clue to what is wrong..... Hope you get some good advice and a diagnosis soon so you can quickly be on your road to good health again. J.
@nikkicxncel have you been referred to a gastroenterologist yet by your physician. I agree with @lacy2 that you are very young to be having these problems.
May be a gluten allergy
It doesn’t hurt to stop eating gluten for a few days or week and see if that helps . See a dr too . Feel better .
Hello @nikkicxncel,
I can understand your concern. It is frightening to have pain, not be able to eat well and then have doctors not find the reason. As others have said, I would encourage you to see a gastroenterologist ("GI doctor"), this type of doctor specializes in stomach problems.
Here are some questions for you to think about as you consider thinking about this problem. Please share as If you are comfortable doing so. Could you share where you have this "stomach pain"? Is it the upper or lower part of your stomach? Near the ribs? Do you have it all the time or are there some days when you are free from pain? Have you had any accidents recently such as a slip and fall or an injury playing sports or perhaps been in a car accident?
I look forward to hearing from you. Will you post again and let me know how you are doing?
I dont think i can pinpoint where the problem is, my stomach is more of a aching feeling. when i drink or eat my stomach starts to twist and turn. in=m very dehydrated aswell.
And ive never felt this amoung of uncomfort before, ive always had stomach issues but nothing ever like this. Theres bee no accidents to make this happen.
You should probably go to the emergency room . It could be appendicitis .Just get that checked .
Hi @nikkicxncel, I too would like to welcome you to Mayo Clinic Connect. You mentioned having the stomach flu before and it feeling different than it does now. Did your doctor order any tests to assess your situation? If you are having diarrhea or a fever associated with your severe pain and loss of appetite, you should request a stool test to rule out C.diff or other infections. Nikki, when did the pain start?
