Starting Lutathera infusions

Hello. I have had Lanreotide injections for 2.5 yrs but now have a slight increase of 5mm in my liver. I will be going to a consultation soon to discuss starting lutathera options. I have had no side effects with the Lanreotide and am a bit nervous about the side effects of Lutathe. Can you share your experience of side effects, when they started, how long they lasted and how you adjusted . Thanks grandma 207

Where is your primary NET? Has it spread anywhere?

I just finished my 4th round of luthera(prrt). Side effects i had were mild to begin with. My stomach was off for about a week but was better watching what I ate. Important to stay hydrated. Mild fatigue in the beginning which got worse with each treatment as side effects are cumulative. Mild nausea etc was easily taken care of by a script of zofran the doctor gave me. Have had hair thinning as well. Fatigue was the worst side effect for me, but everyone is different. Rest when you need to. Had to keep my diet kinda bland for the first week after each treatment. Also had an issue once with white cells dropping to low and needed a injection to raise them. For me, it will be all worth it if my dotatate scan in about 4 weeks shows the cancer is stable atleast. The lanreotide is still given during Prrt. For me, just being on lanreotide didn't help which is why they went to prrt. Good luck to you and let me know if you have any other questions.
