Yes had my first Xgeva injection Momday Once every 11 weeks

No issues I am on Xtandi as well daily and 3 mos injections of Zolodex

You must take 1200mg of Calcium daily
Xgeva pushes calcium from the blood back into the bone for density

I was on Lupron for 13 months, some 3 month shots, some monthly. It was noticeable but manageable, mostly fatigue.

That might better be a question for your oncologist or urologist. I don’t know alternatives to Xgeva.

Why do we even need it?

Does it have such a benefit versus just taking more calcium

Headaches and decreased alertness are side effects reported with this drug. It may help prevent fractures and spinal cord compression but if the side effects are intolerable to you , tell your doctor about them.

I struggle "mightily " with the side effects of ADT ( Lupron & Zytiga). I have accepted this result as part of getting well. I've done 8 mos and have 16 to go. It is soul crushing but "do-able". Good Luck to all of us.

Dr. Did not consider it a problem to take me off the Xgeva when I got necrosis of the jaw. He did urge me to keep taking calcium supplements.
