Stage 3b 2 positive lymph nodes one year later metastatic to liver
I had surgery to remove 1 large tumor 6.4 cm with 2 positive lympnoids. Went through oral chemo Capaecitabian and one round Oxaliplatin. My scan were all clear until 80 days ago after ct and then petscan now upper right lobe of liver shoes multiple small tumors and 2 small areas on lung rt less than 2mm Having liver biopsy next week. My Oncologist is putting me back on Capaecitabian 4 times daily then at least 4 iv rounds of iv chemo They consider this now stage 4 metastasized. Has anyone else experienced this?

I agree. Don't get too far ahead of things. Sometimes, you just have to wait to talk to the doctor. It is hard to resist reading the results, but I have personally misinterpreted them myself. The wait can be excruciating though.
@grandmakat5 Did you have the doctor's appointment to review your results yet?
yes. CDX-2 Positive. focally positive and negative for keratin 7
sections show hepatic parenchyma inflitrated by tumor composed of large cells with irregular nuceli and a moderate amount of cytoplasm forming gradulat structures
What is the gameplan from here?
Meeting Monday with an onco radiologist doc for more infro on Y90 and then.Friday.onco liver surgeon for ablation My main onco wants me and my husband to meet with them.so we fully understand benefits etc Im.back on Capaecitabian right now Oxaliplatin is currently scheduled for mid July because we have had a vacation.planned for months with 4 of our 5 grandkids After weighing options I may not need them Oxaliplatin So now the next week will be filled with infro and I will go from there It is my understanding that since the liver mets are in the small.cm the Y90 can possibly destroy it all and preserve the good tissues. its a chance However right now I want ro hear fully about both proceedures and success rate especially.since tje original tumor was.MSS
instead of having a surgery look into the radio wave treatment that kills tumors this helps to avoid a hard surgery Look intoo it as a surgeon all they want to do is cut Mot the end of the world but if you can do this wave treatment less invasive Clevelenad clinic does it & I think somebody said a hospital in California does as well Don't be pushed it's your body
I've had almost exactly the same experience since diagnosed with bowel cancer and an op in Nov 22 followed by chemo. Clear until July 24 when diagnosed with liver cancer and had op to remove 5% of liver. Both ops very successful but now in lungs, Stage 4, and awaiting probable chemo once summer activities are over. Despite all this, feel very fit and walking / cycling a lot. Now sailing in Greece before starting a 300 mile e-bike ride in France in early July. I think keeping fit is half the battle. I'm 80. Best of luck with your treatment.
Yes I agree Are you talking about the hystropicy (spelling) where its non invasive ? they do it at St Johns in West Los Angeles. I am a lil leary because the Y90 has been around longer Last night as my husband said if the Y90 or since were going to get an appt for the histroplcy to try first and if all fails surgery! I just need to make sure once you do one of these treatments and its not successful that surgery can still be done. Thank you!
go and talk and ask 10 million questions and is you still do not fe4el comfortable ask another 10 million If they do not like it too bad it is your body
I need lens implants and nurse that set everything up this is the way it it . Huum don't think so lady I called surgery center & got a lot of issues solved. Like she insisted that I had to be put to sleep for an implant piece of cake compared to a port put in Anesthia said that was not problem at all just so they can have an IV said great So stand up for yourself and ask and ask again Don't let them bully your
It is a bit of a learning process, but you are taking the necessary steps. You want to get all of the information available that helps you pick the best treatment that works for you. Having questions prepared is a great idea. I write them down. But, I let the doctors talk first. I find a lot of my questions get answered that way. I check them off and take notes. I then ask my questions that remain. It makes the appointment seem less stressful. I don't want to fight with the doctor. I want she or he to fix me as soon as possible. Do you have some questions ready? Did you write them down?
