Stage 3 Clear Cell Carcinoma, Suspicious nodule in thyroid

Posted by josevaz77 @josevaz77, 1 day ago

Hi All my name is Anthony of 48 years old. I was diagnosed with stage 3 clear cell carcinoma in December 2024. I had a radical nephrectomy in January 2025 and am currently under Immunotherapy treatment every 6 weeks (9 treatments in total). I also have a suspicious nodule in my right thyroid and other "benign" nodules in my bilateral thyroids. I am currently conducting a molecular test for the suspicious nodule and awaiting results. The plan is if I have to remove a partial or full right thyroid, the surgeon will make every effort to delay surgery until immunotherapy is completed so as not to not affect any parts of the immunotherapy. Seeking patients whom have similar situations. Thank you!

Best to you! Was your RCC in your kidney sinus cavity? Did it ever made you bleed or block urine. I have a 4cc in my sinus cavity near those blood vessels. What was after surgery like? I read that RCC is a sneaky cancer that once removed likes to pop up later as another cancer in the body.

I had a partial nephrectomy of 2 tumors in my left kidney; still have 90% of the kidney; have a 3+cm cyst on right kidney. At 3 mo check up they found a nodule on my right lung, which they are watching. Originally went in for a tumor on my carotid artery bifurcation (benign paraganglioma) and they found the 2 kidney tumors, 2.2 cm & 5.5 cm. Had the carotid artery tumor removed in July. Prior to that surgery, they were reviewing the most recent scans of my neck, and saw what appears to be a partially calcified lesion meningioma in the inner table of my meninges; they'll further look into that at end of this month when I go back for follow up check up on neck, lung, kidneys. I should mention a large suspicious lymph node was removed during neck resection of the paraganglioma which was benign, and it was recommended I have thyroid checked annually. This is hard. Even though im 20 yrs older than you, Anthony, and in otherwise good health, I'm wondering "what happened!?" and have become highly suspicious of those kidney tumors. I've never smoked or vaped, don't drink or use
recreational drugs.. have had genetic testing, but didnt apparently inherit this. I DID grow up about 175 mi downwind of Hanford nuclear reactor and have always lived within the prevailing winds of Hanford.
