Stage 1b endometrial cancer treated without surgery
What are the symptoms one should be concerned about if you have Stage 1b endometrial cancer that is being treated only with external beam radiation and brachytherapy? I could not have a hysterectomy because of massive adhesions from 3 abdominal surgeries. I am midway through my 25 radiation sessions and am still having vaginal bleeding. I have told the radiation oncologist but he just said it was irritation. I have been bleeding since my gynecologist put me on Provera in February. The Provera therapy was intended to control the cancer while I waited for surgery in April. She opened up my abdomen in April, and didn’t proceed with the surgery. After she told me she wanted me to stay on the Provera until I finished radiation. Too many doctors are involved in my treatment. I don’t know how to manage all of them and I am so worried that the radiation treatment will not be effective, despite all of them telling me this is a curative plan. I would like to hear from others who have only had radiation for treatment of endometrial cancer to know what I can expect.
Thank you!
