Spine fusion and evenity

Posted by alavia @alavia, Nov 14, 2021

I had cervical spine surgery and my bones are fusing. I just learned I have osteopenia. The bone health PA recommended that I start taking evenity shots.I am wondering if anyone else had success getting bone fusion with the shots. I am also concerned because I have high cholesterol, high calcium scoring test. And family history of heart attack. Any insight on these matters would be helpful thank you

Correction to the above: my bones are not fusing 5 months post acdf surgery.

Had back surgery on Oct. 21, 2021. Two cages and support rods were installed, along with cadaver bone and hip bone marrow. Presently taking Gabapentin and tizanidine to handle the pain. Back was doing well. Started physical therapy Nov. 22nd with basic core exercises and toe lifts. Little sore after several days doing these at home. Got a Moderna booster shot on Nov. 26. On Nov. 30th, I started to get severe back pain and had trouble walking and simple things. Any possibility that the booster shot is reacting with my cadaver bone in my lower back?

I had fusion on L4-5 last January. My NS told me to wear a brace and do no PT for 4 months! Only walking. I have osteopenia. My surgery was painful but it’s healed well. I still have problems though, lower hip pain and neck pain. I’m going to tell them, my fear of more surgery is holding me back.
