has anyone used SALUDA brand of spinal cord stimulation? And if so what was their result. I am about to start a trail with this brand.

Hello,
Your story is similar to mine! Sorry to hear. Could I PM you. I had an injury to epigastric abdomen 2010...languished in bed for 6 yrs to get small surgery to repair torn muscle.
Have severe epigastric pain now, also contacted Mayo, was declined.
Stimulator placed last Sept. all these months later I am back bedridden, it messed with my nerves so badly.
I do have some other info. Maybe of use to you...I wrote on another blog, so you may have seen another post of mine. My epigastric pain is like yours overwhelming and life altering...some days I just want to sleep thru the pain. Trying to get my Stimulator out, causes me great pain, especially battery pack. Thnk you sharing.

Oh my goodness you have gone through more than anyone should have to. "Small surgery to repair a torn muscle"? Wow, your story begs the question of why it took so long to find a torn muscle? How did you tear a muscle while lying in bed for 6-years? Whew! I wonder why Mayo declines to offer a diagnosis and remedy? I experienced the same thing which was VERY disappointing. I certainly understand your desire to sleep through the pain. I, too desire to "escape" it somehow but can't. I don't know what you mean by, "PM you"? The SCS may help you but it did not help me. I am glad the neurosurgeon removed it. If you have add't information I am always researching or am in the process of coordinating an app't with a abdominal surgeon. Next up is the U of Chicago Medical Ctr.; "Specialists in Complicated GI Issues".

No parathesia. My lower back is decimated. Anything that could be wrong I have. I’ve had sciatica in both legs. Surgeries were successful in alleviating most of that. But I continued to have acute pain across the lower back, hip to hip. Intense pain in my left hip that wrapped around towards the front of my thigh to my knee, to the ankle.
As I said, the stimulator wiped out at minimum 80%.
I’m also convinced physical therapy is a must. I spend an hour 4 days a week doing PT to strengthen my core, my legs, as my knees are arthritic with torn meniscus’s and my left hip is arthritic with a few spurs.
Right hip was replaced in Nov. 2022. Both shoulders are arthritic with very bad years of the rotator cuff’s. I also do yoga once a week.
The surgery is pretty much easy peasy. Post op pain isn’t that bad. After 2 weeks you’ll be ready for pretty much anything.
4-6 weeks you’ll be doing great.

Thank you for story. You have been through so much. I tried Boston about 4 1/2 yrs ago. I had pain in my toes of right foot from surguery. Boston Scientific did take away 50% of the pain but the parathesia was anoying so I had them take it out after 2 months. I was inpatient and I should have given it longer. I regret That I didn't give it longer time to see if it could be adjusted. Maybe Boston got better in the 4 years. I might have to try it again if the insurance will cover it. Good luck.

Had a Boston Scientific spinal stimulation implanted Nov. 24.
A minimum of 80% pain relief.
The medical provider told me they like Boston as the battery seems to last longer. Don’t know if that is fact. So far it’s been life changing. After 3 surgeries starting at age 30, now I’m 69.
Had every injection possible. 3 years of ablations, this was the answer. You will be pleased.

Hi Flyjim, can you share with us where you pain is located? 80% pain relief is pretty impressive.

Entire lumbar across the hips.
Acute pain into the left hip area that wrapped around the front of the leg sometimes radiating down to the ankle.

There are at least six different sites for nerve stimulation devices:
Useful web sites:
http://www.sjm.com
http://www.bostonscientific.com
http://www.medtronic.com
http://www.nevro.com
http://www.mainstaymedical.com
I would say to anyone that has had constant back pain and been told that it will not get better to ask their pain specialist about these other brands.
I go in for my trail this coming Monday 30th June. And will keep everyone in the loop. I have since long learnt that doctors are only human and do make mistakes, and that they can be questioned!

November 4, 2024 had a Boston Scientific spinal stimulator implanted.
It has provided at minimum 80% pain relief to my destroyed lumbar. After multiple failed surgeries, every injection available, a few years of ablations that provided minimal relief.
The spinal stimulator is life changing. I asked the medical providers team why Boston Scientific and their reason was mostly longer battery life along with better overall engineering and support team.

I tried Boston two years ago and it did not work for me. Also with Saluda you don't have to carry a remote control for changing the levels of stimulation, Saluda adjusts itself automatically. But, anything that works is worth a try!

Different topic I guess: i have two stents. Would that preclude having a SCS?

I don’t understand that it doesn’t have a remote and it adjusts automatically.
My BS remote has 4 different programs. Two you can feel the stimulation, two not. Also if your pain springs up in a different area for some reason the rep can adjust it to cover more of that area. Hard to believe the other stimulator has the ability to know that.
After experiencing, evaluating, experimenting the different programs I’ve settled on one in particular for 99% of the time.
