Something sliding out of place under my chin randomly. Dont know what.
Hello. I am a 15 year old who went to an ENT doctor earlier today because something under my chin feels like it is sliding out of place from the left to the right when I yawn or open my mouth wide sometimes. It is very random, like once a week to once a month. It hurts an insane amount and I have to push it back in place to have the pain stop, which happens pretty quicky. The doctor didn't give any diagnosis and said it wasn't anything to worry about but I am still very confused on what it is. My dentist and teacher both mentioned how there are glands in the area I was describing, but I am not sure if it is that that is moving out of place or something else? It is all very confusing to me but If anyone knows and could give an answer that would be awesome, because just kinowing or having an idea of what it is would be very helpful. Thank you!

Sorry if I am not good at explaining, it is definitely not my strong suit
Hi Bkats,
That sounds very uncomfortable and painful! (By the way, you explained your situation very well!) What do your parents think about your problem? Have you considered seeing another doctor? It's odd that the doctor that you saw wasn't more concerned about the pain that you are experiencing. Maybe your parents can help you find a better doctor who would be more thorough. In the meantime, perhaps you could take an over the counter pain reliever such as Ibuprofen in a mild dose. Ask your parents which one they think would be best for you to take.
Also you can always ask God to help you get over this and/or to find the right doctor to help you. Prayer does work! God made you and he can fix you.
I'll say a prayer for you also.

@bkats I have been thinking about you and your situation.
It sounds like it could be your jaw joints. The key is that it happens when you open your mouth to yawn or chew?
If you chew something hard like a hard candy, meat, or anything else that you must really bite into does that cause you some pain?
If I’m right, it could be TMJ. When you are having pain, try putting an ice pack on the areas and see if it helps.
sounds to me like it could be TMJ
