@angieb16 Sometimes, it takes a longer treatment with antibiotics than 5 days, to clear up a UTI. In my past, it has taken a 2 week regimen. And don't forget, some infections may need a different antibiotic to be effective. Sometimes they need to culture an infection to see what will work.
If you feel more comfortable calling now, does your doctor have a nurse advisor you can check in with?

It was a 14 day regimen but I didn’t realize that cipro it’s a very dangerous antibiotic and I was not feeling good taking them my infection was e.coli and the dr I was seeing at that time didn’t want to give me something else but I did take another urine test and it had cleared…I don’t think so but I can call and see if they can move my appt sooner
Hello, allow me to jump in here. Do you have an online account that will allow you to message your nephrologist? I have access to “My Chart” and all of my doctors can share information. Most doctors now have online access. Maybe you can send her/him an email and ask if you need an early appointment. I had a UTI and was treated with Bactrim. It threw my labs out of wack. I understand how upsetting it can be to get a negative test result. I hope this is helpful.
I am dealing with a gynecologist rn that were I got my urine test from….I do have an online account I will see if I could msg him…yes it’s super scary and frustrating cuz I hate taking medication especially antibiotics since it throws a lot of things out of wack
Just got off 500 bidCipro for uti. She still wants me to take 250 day for 3 weeks
3 rd uti in a year
If possible attach your lab report. My nephrologist is over 100 miles away. With the help of my dr IT team they have connected all of my dr. Maybe you can see if this is possible for you. Try to create a team approach where you can link all of your dr’s together. Thanks to technology, and depending on your location, this maybe possible. Most of my visits are now telemedicine. I provide my vitals, my weight any changes in my symptoms. My labs are ordered from my local clinic. If I have a change in my status, it’s easy for my team to review. It’s also easy to question new medication orders. I have learned not to take any medications that have not been approved by my pharmacist or my nephrologist . CKD requires a team approach. I’m so thankful for this website, I have learned so much from reading about other people journey. You are your best advocate. All the best to you
