Smart watch to monitor blood sugar

I am considering a Smart Watch to monitor my blood sugar. Can anyone recommend one or tell their experience using one, good and bad. Thank you.

Are you wanting to monitor blood glucose due to having type 1 or 2 diabetes? From what I’ve read there is questionable reliability of blood glucose monitoring in which there is no placement of the sensor under the skin. I haven’t tried monitors that are on top of the skin, so I can’t comment. But, is there any reason you couldn’t try a continuous glucose monitor (sensor is under the skin)? There are quite a few options now. I think many insurance companies cover them too.

I use a cgm that’s built in to my insulin pump (Medtronic 780).

My brother has one. It keeps going off in mixed company,
letting everyone know his sugar is too high and he'd better lay off the cookies.

I have seen reviews of these smart watch glucose monitors and they are all either hit or miss. Mostly miss. Judging from the reviews the results are as good as throwing dice. Rarely correct. Mostly wrong. One would need to do finger sticks to check the accuracy a lot.
A watch that connects to a CGM is a totally different story.

Not approved by FDA. Diabetes Dr has not heard any reviews.

Thank you so much. That helps a lot. The ads are very misleading, unfortunately.

I am reconsidering. Have heard no positive comments.
I have Diabetes Type 2, as well as Stage 4 CKD. My A1c is 7.2 and I know I can improve that.

Thank you.

Oh, in that case, I would definitely recommend a continuance glucose monitor. Check out TCOYD for reviews on them. I read a lot about Dexcom and Libre. Although, not perfect, they can be a great tool in helping you identify trends, problem times, etc. And check for insurance coverage. Best wishes on meeting your goals.

Given that neither Apple nor Samsung have the feature on their smart watches, it’s a very safe bet that the any such watch you find is a scam. If it were a reliable technology, both watches would have it.
