Small intestine bleed from combination of chemo, metformin, and Plavix

Has anybody have the experience of going through this type of bleed from the combination of the above? Needed a Ruby coil through the groin to the small intestine to stop the bleed

@gareee314, how are you doing? Were they able to stop the bleeding?

Yes they entered through my groin and probed around and I heard a Ah Ha from both the nurse and surgeon..It was a vein that bursted in my small intestine high in my stomach. They inserted a ruby coil which stopped the bleeding..In the meantime with the bleed and all the contrast they pumped into me before they got me under the blood scan machine my kidneys shut down and my body kept loading up with water. My feet, hands, and sides were all swollen up. The kidney Dr. had me hooked up to a kidney dialysis machine an hour a day for 3 days and he got my kidneys to jump-start and I was filling the catheter bag with no problem. I was told the combination of the 1 round of chemo with the blood thinner(Plavix) and Metformin I was taking caused this.
