I have ileostomy and play golf, I would like to learn how to slow down my bowel movement for 4 hours while I play, currently I snack on cheerios and take one immodium which seem to help, any other suggestions? Thanks Terry

I hear that potato chips are good at thickening output up but I don't know if that would help or not. Some swear by marshmallows....but that still doesn't do what you want to do.
From Mr. Google: How do I slow down my bowel transit time?
Soluble Fibre

These are fibres that are soluble in water. The primary types of soluble fibre include pectins (veggies, fruits), gums (gum Arabic), mucilages (guar, carrageenan), and some hemicelluloses. These fibres are especially beneficial for individuals with diarrhea, as they help slow down transit time.Jul 6, 2021

The only way I know of is to reduce the food intake and change or drain the pouch before I embark on such an endeavor.

Marshmallows will help slow the flow greatly. Also limit intake for several hours before you go and empty your pouch immediately before leaving home .
It's a real pain, I understand. I'd love one good night sleep!

I agree,katey122
Having an ileostomy for last 30 plus years I have tried many things and you are right, you may have to adjust things somewhat due to everyone having a
different metabolism

My ileostomy is only 7 months old and I am learning how to deal with it, frankly its not the greatest thing in the world but I am learning. I do have 50% of my colon left and will soon need to make a decision to hook it all back up or learn to live with my pouch for the rest of my life, I have developed a hernia that I will have to deal with some day. You are clearly a PRO any thoughts? Thanks, Terry

I take Mounjaro and it slows down my output. I can now make a 3 hour airplane flight without using their lovely bathroom.
