Skin changes on breast
Long story short. I had a left breast lumpectomy and 35 sessions of radiation for TNBC ductal carcinoma in situ in 2012. 2021 I had recurrence, same breast. Had double mastectomy in 2021 and reconstruction in march 2022 after 16 sessions of chemotherapy. I am noticing skin changes on th left breast. Harder areas on the skin that did no get radiation. I had an MRI done back in november and it said I had edema. Anyone has experienced this? I am scare.

I developed lymphedia in my breast and under my arm following my mastectomy and radiation. It wasn't severe but problematic. I was treated by OT lymphedia specialist. I do exercises every day to reduce the possibility of recurrance. My skin softened after the fluid was finally removed.
@asa13 what you are going through must be frightening for you, in light if all you have gone through. If I had this kind of changes, I would be a little freaked out. Have you reached out to your doctor about this?
I will get a sonomammogram next week. Hopefully all will be fine. Thanks

@asa13 sending positive thoughts and prayers for a good result. If you still have concerns after the sono/mammo, you could push them to biopsy so there are no open questions then. Was your recurrence still DCIS or was it invasive?
@asa13, how are you doing? Did you find out anything from the sonomammogram?
Hi!
My recurrence was DCIS stage 0 again but after the double mastectomy there was also an invasive hidden.

I had it done. Still waiting for results 7-10 days. Horrible waiting.

Hello!!!!!!
So happy! I had to wait 10 days for the results. I was so stressed but always talking to God. He heard me as always. For now, all seems ok. Nothing abnormal. Today is my oncologist appointment. Thanks
Keep the prayers!
