Hello @gtl, I think the answer is yes according to this information I found. The article also has some home remedy suggestions you might find helpful.

"Sinus drainage is a natural process, so a person cannot prevent it. The sinuses drain down the back of the throat and into the stomach. Each time a person swallows, they are swallowing some mucus. Symptoms occur when there is an excessive amount of mucus, and the mucus is unusually thick."

Have you discussed the symptoms with your doctor or ENT or tried any over the counter product to see if they might help?

I have had an ongoing issue with sinus congestion and a stuffed up nose on one side but never had the drainage like you describe. A Mayo Clinic ENT prescribed a proprietary nasal spray which I used twice daily (morning and evening) after first doing a saline nasal rinse. I used the spray for about 4 months and it really helped. I've continued to do the twice daily nasal rinse and it does help keep my nose fairly clear and I'm able to breathe much better.
