Signatera test at 2 years remission, worth doing?
A little history:
Aug 2022- Diagnosis of bilateral IDC breast cancer, HR+, HER2-, ki67 @ 19%, Grade 2 on left, Grade 1 on right.
Aug 2022- Bilateral lumpectomy and all armpit nodes removed, both sides. 1 left LN had cancer—Oncotype of left= 23, Oncotype of right = 11.
Sept 2022-Nov 2022- 4 rounds of T/C chemo.
Nov 2022- Started Letrozole
Nov 2022- Started monthly Lupron injections.
Nov 2022- CT with contrast- "NED"
Nov 2022- Cancer antigen test 43 (same day as last chemo infusion)
Dec 2022- Bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction (my choice on both), no cancer in any tissue.
Feb 2023-Apr 2023- 5 weeks of radiation on left= chest, breast, armpit, and neck.
May 2023- started bi-annual Zometa infusions to strengthen bones.
June 2023- Removal of both ovaries/tubes, stopped Lupron.
Oct 2023- Breast cellulitis, emergency surgery to remove implants
June 2024- Diep flap surgery
Tuesday, 6/3/25 - will be my 6-month labs, exam, and Zometa infusion. I asked for the Signatera blood test because waiting around for the other shoe to drop sucks. I like to know everything.
Note: I was 47 at the age of diagnosis. My mother, 68 at the time, was diagnosed with the same bc 3 weeks after me. Our genetic testing came back negative. In 2020, we both started getting testosterone pellets every 3 months. In 2023, my oncologist ordered the ingredients of the pellets. There was testosterone AND estradiol in them. My mom and I got the pellets at the same place. When I was first diagnosed by the breast specialist/ radiologist in August 2022, she asked me who my doctor was, and I mentioned the name of the doctor who gave me the pellets. The radiologist replied, "Oh yes, I know her, I have her on speed dial!" Very strange.
I would like to hear thoughts from anyone who has done the Signaterra test with a similar history to mine. I'm afraid that if it's positive, I will lose my mind.

You give a very detailed history. Let me just say I am 71 and was first diagnosed at 32 and have had radiation, chemo, 2 separate mastectomies surgery to my chest wall, lymph node surgery, cyberknife. I have been NED for the past 3 years & have had Signateta every six months for the past 2 years and am extremely grateful to do that rather than continued PET/ CTS. So worth it in my opinion.
Good news! My first CTDNA test came back negative! Yay!
Thats awesome!!
Thank you! Did your bc come back 3 years ago?
First for me was 1998, second in 2014 and metastasis to lung 11/22.
That must be rough. I'm so happy you are getting negative results!
It has come back in my chest wall and now keeps returning in lymph nodes. Last tim under my collar bone 3 years ago & I had cyberknife & put on Verzinio then Ibrance
