Anyone taking Voriconazole for ABPA?
Side effects? I have reduced peripheral vision, reduced appetite.

Several of us have taken Vfend. It does have skin and vision problems. Everything got all wonky and yellow for my vision for a few hours every day, but then I’d be ok. I’d wait till that subsided to drive. 18 months on it was long enough for sure!! At least ABPA is treatable. That’s the good news. Way easier than MAC. Good luck! Irene5

I took voriconazole for 6 months. My side effects were vision problems, and nausea. I had monthly bloodwork done. All was good with bloodwork until 4 th month. Then my liver enzymes went through the roof and I ended up in hospital. I had fibrosis of liver. After getting switched to Amphotericin (very toxic IV drug) infusions I got worse. Finally was put on Posaconozole which has no effect on my liver. This is my situation. Hope your dr finds the right treatment for you! Praying for you.

Thank you …your story is interesting. Hope you are doing well. Posi made my potassium & blood pressure drop, ended up in ICU for 5 days and step down for 5 more. I was immediately switched to Vori. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you. Trading (constant) vision fog and shadows for overall better daily living is worth it. Still waiting for MAC decision.

Yes tis a trade off for sure. In the big picture though it will have been worth it. Cresemba is another real good drug for people who can’t tolerate Vfend. Quite pricey though! ( irene5)

TY. My pulmonologist is exploring Vfend alternatives as the vision effects are getting worse… but I can breathe…
