SIBO and Jardiance

Posted by gak @gak, Feb 1 1:43pm

My cardiologist prescribed Jardiance about a year ago for congestive heart failure (I do not have diabetes, the main use for Jardiance). Not too long after starting the drug I began to have episodes of diarrhea. Now I have been diagnosed with SIBO and I'm wondering if anyone else with SIBO is taking Jardiance for non-diabetic use.

@fionakatt

Thank you. She is doing well on these meds? No side effects? I take the H1 and H2 antihistamines. I fear xolair because some of its side effects are symptoms. I already have and deal with all the time, so I figured I don’t need any more. I’ve tried the cromolyn but found it hard to adhere to. Thanks for your reply.

It has literally changed her quality of life. She has been taking it for several years. She probably takes the maximum dose. I know that some people have to increase slowly. There is a mast cell FB page that is not still active but can still be viewed. There are many people who have commented on their experiences. Her SIBO issue went away when she started preparing her gut for food with the CSodium. Hood luck!

Also be aware that it loses its effectiveness if it is not kept at room temperature.
