My husband had reverse total shoulder replacement. He's totally pain free (in that shoulder) and everything is fine. His only complaint is that he can't build muscle in that area anymore. He definitely did his physical therapy afterwards though!/
I agree with bionicwoman and jholland. From what I read, after reverse replacement surgery you never regain the strength you had. If you are into sports or strength training, that could be a major quality of life issue.
I had torn rotator cuffs and arthritis in my left shoulder and refused the surgery. Glad I did. I went to PT and kept doing as much as I could in the gym.
Slowly but surely I am regaining my strength.
If that doesn’t continue, I will look into stem cells and/or prp treatments even though insurance doesn’t cover them.
I had Total Shoulder Replacement on April 25th and before surgery pain is gone. November I will have my other shoulder done as I’m having the same pain caused by Severe Osteoarthritis. After 2 yrs without using my arm I can finally use it once again. It was so bad a cup of coffee fell out of my hand. So happy I had it done.
