Severe vomiting problem
I have been dealing with severe vomiting and stomach pain every few weeks (that will last from 1-3 days) for the last three years. Had gallbladder removed two years ago but vomiting episodes continued. Was then told I had cyclic vomiting syndrome. Have had 2 endoscopes (first one showed mild gastrisits and second one was normal). Just recently had a CT scan in ER and was told it is colitis. Have an appt with my GI next week. Has anyone ever dealt with something like this?

@lou96 Severe gastroparesis?? Parasite? Cyclical vomiting syndrome? Have you been out of the country anywhere before then? Ughhhhhhh .... friend, this is so awful! My heart truly goes out to you. I'm going to be thinking about this. Hopefully someone here can provide insight soon! Do you have a good set of Dr's near you to jump in and help?

3 ReactionsThis sounds dreadful, so sorry you had this so much ! Time to get to a gastro doc, get a complete work up- endoscopy and/or colonoscopy, imaging. Get on it so you can put a stop to it sooner rather than later ! Good luck !

4 ReactionsI’m sorry to hear how bad you are feeling, it sounds awful and certainly scary, good thing you’re getting help with this to find out what’s going on. I’m thinking that it sounds viral especially with fever and green sludge sounds like a possible infection, did you travel recently or eat something different from your usual diet? Definitely keep going to the doctor until they figure it out for you, be wishes.

2 Reactions@lou96 - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I moved your post here to where others were discussing vomiting and related issues:
- Severe vomiting problem https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/severe-vomiting-every-few-weeks-for-last-two-years/
Hoping that here you can connect with members such as @annewoodmayo @momluvsthree @astaingegerdm and others who may have some input on your situation with so much vomiting, swelling, rash, fever and diarrhea.
Yes, searching online can potentially send you down rabbit holes, and I've found it usually scares me, if looking for something medical related to myself.
How are you feeling today?

It must be very scary to have these episodes and not knowing why.
I agree with advice already given to see a gastroenterologist, preferably one associated with a major hospital or university hospital.
They will most likely perform endoscopy and colonoscopy where biopsies can be taken.
Fever doesn’t necessarily mean that you have an infection, it can also be part of a severe allergic reaction.
You can start a food diary before your appointment- writing down everything you are eating and drinking.
