Has anyone had iridotomies sutured after failed bilateral iridotomy?

Posted by babyholder @babyholder, Feb 15, 2022

Has anyone ever had their iridotomies sutured and benefitted from it? I had bilateral LPI’s done in December and I am suffering immensely from the side effects. I was only told of the rare possibility of white lines and nothing more. Unfortunately, I ended up with white lines in both eyes, and I now have spotty, blotchy vision in my left eye. In addition to these visual abnormalities, I now have chronic redness, burning, stinging and throbbing bilaterally. No matter how much sleep I get, my eyes feel miserable and I’m continually exhausted and unable to function well. I’m looking into getting the iridotomies sutured, but I’m afraid of the what ifs! If anyone out there has ever gotten their iridotomy closed off, I would greatly appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you!

@babyholder, I know you've received some responses from members in these 2 related discussions:

How frustrating it must be to still be searching for answers, and better yet, solutions. So, now you're considering yet another surgery to suture the iridotomies. I found this recent case study of a specific type of technique.

Is suturing an option for you? What are the pros and cons?
