Severe Ozempic Side Effects

Posted by labgirl @labgirl, Nov 16, 2023

I am new to taking ozempic and just started 5 days ago. The prescribed dose was 0.5 mg and I have been so sick ever since I injected that dose.
I'm experiencing nausea, dry heaves, and most unexpectedly, severe anxiety. I feel like I'd like to crawl out of my skin and can't wait till this drug clears my system. I can't eat, but I know it's not healthy to totally forgo essential certain vitamins and minerals. I snack on pretzels because they are bland and have salt.
Has anyone else had an extreme anxiety and sickness response to starting Ozempic?

I have no effects from ozempic, other than relief of some leg pain. I also take gabapentin and duloxetine.

I WAS PRESCRIBED OZEMPIC 2.5 WITH INCREASE AFTER 1 MONTH. IMMEDIATELY I STARTED MASSIVE THICK SPUTUM THAT COATED MY THROAT. UNABLE TO COUGH IT UP BUT MADE ME NAUSEOUS AND OCCASIONAL VOMITING. I TRIED MUCINEX AND BENADRYL TO TRY TO DRY UP THE SECRETIONS BUT NOTHING HELPED. I HAD OCCASIONAL NAUSEA FROM THE MEDICINE BUT THE POST NASAL DRIP WAS THE WORST. MY DR SAID SHE NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE HAVING A REACTION LIKE THIS TO OZEMPIC. ANYONE ELSE HAVE A SIMILAR REACTION?

I started ozempic at .25 no sides. I was bad at injecting myself. the ozempic would run down my legs. expensive medicine too, about $250 per shot. I switched to rybelsus, a pill form of semiglutide. starting at 3 mg after two weeks onto 7 mg. no problems. I do get upset stomach depending on what I eat. for that I mix baking soda filtered water and apple cider vinegar and drink it down. it works fast.

not anymore, I stopped gabapentin and duloxetine. I am back on Wellbutrin which I've used over 20 years on and off.

My primary care physician put me on Ozempic for Type 2 Diabetes and I was very anxious, irritable, and became suicidal. I also had horrible joint pain, trouble sleeping, and a flushed face. I consulted with my PCP, my Rheumatologist, and my psychiatrist, and none of them were familiar with these side effects. Anyone else have these problems?

Get used to it. I used it for a year and was miserable the entire time. You lose weight because nothing tastes good. Constant indigestion. I told myself this is no way to live. So I stopped. No more injectables.

@ronbon, I agree with you. I don't think Ozempic is a magic pill for weight loss. The weight loss seems to occur because of the gastrointestinal side effects that make you not want to eat. So, it's eating less that causes the weight loss. If that's the case, couldn't people just lose weight by eating less and avoid the side effects from taking Ozempic? I don't take Ozempic, so I'm just speculating here. But aside from the weight loss aspect, Ozempic is supposed to help protect the kidneys and the heart in type 2 diabetics.

I took Ozempic for 3 months, I ended up in ER with acute pancreatitis. I endured elevated heart rate, and EXTREME constipation... That's my story. Would I recommend it to anybody...never!
