Severe knee joint paint after Reclast infuaion?

Posted by louiemeyers @louiemeyers, Jul 7 10:47am

I had my first Reclast infusion last Tuesday. Starting yestersay (5 days later), every time I stand up my knee joints hurt extremely and I cant walk for 3-5 minutes, then I can walk but bottom half of legs feel heavy for another 2-3
Minutes. Then fine. Also some wrist
Pain that comes and goes. I have called my rheumatologist’s place
And a nurse will
Call back later today, but I am wondering if anyone else experienced this?

I had a horrible reaction to Reclast. They said 3 days after the infusion, which a mild reaction occurred. But about 10 days later, I awoke in severe pain all over. I could not get out of bed. I called my Endocrinologist ( she said she never heard of this) but sent out a prescription for 100 mg of Tramadol which in about a week, alleviated the pain. I will never have that poison infusion again.

I never had any s/e with reclast, but my daughter did. Recommend taking Tylenol night before and morning after. Some use benadryl . However after taking Reclast both me and my daughter's Dex score worsened. Go think????

My doctor says recast sometimes takes awhile to work. Mine showed very good progress after 6 months.

I had a Zometa infusion in April. I had severe pain in my right hand and arm several days after the infusion. It finally went away after a few more days. I have not had another infusion since. It was supposed to be every three months. I do have severe joint pain in my hands and also now in my knees and feet. It is supposedly linked to the AI (aromatase inhibitor) Letrozole I am taking. 🤷‍♀️
Trigger thumb surgery Tuesday.
Best wishes for healing and freedom from pain fir fellow sufferers from the drugs we have been given. ❤️

I am worried about getting my DEXA after this year's infusion of Reclast. I went in for a physical and have
"shrunk" 1 inch in a 1.5 years. I am hoping the DEXA shows improvement, even though my spine has not.
