Severe itching
Has anybody experienced severe itching from OZEMPIC? I stopped taking OZEMPIC a month ago after using it for 6 months. I still have severe itching, and my physician told me that OZEMPIC can stay in my system for a month. I use ZYTREC to help with the itching, but so far, it has had minimal results. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hello,
CeraVe make a produce, itch relief moisturizer cream. It's pretty good. You can buy the tub on Amazon.
Also, you may ask your doctor to prescribe "Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP 0.1 percent"
One of these should help your itching.
Best regards
I like the suggestion of the CeraVe and triamcinolone cream Rx.
Minimize hot water bathing and use Dove soap. Keep a portable humidifier
in your bedroom as this is the time of year for winter itch as well.
Review possibility of other medications on your list that may cause allergies.
Statins can dry our skin as well.
I have tried both. No help. I also was prescribed ZYRTEC. No help. Also SARNA cream, which gave me a short relief period of about one hour. My guess is that I must wait a month for relief.
I am currently experiencing this. Is there any product that helped you during that month?
@lh4642 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Those of us who have sensitive skin, and experience varying reactions to medications, have often tried a lot of remedies!
Are you stopping Ozempic? How long were you on it? What have you tried so far for the itching?
Ginger
On it until I reached 1mg Use Clobetasol cream
I've been on Ozempic a year now, and I've been having a flare-up, itching, I itch all over my body from my head to the lower part of my body.
This could be hard on the liver/kidneys. Drink at least 1/2 your weight in water. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid processed foods, alcohol, sugar, gluten and do not over animal protein.

Here is a link to the Mayo Clinic website, that shows itching may be a severe side effect. Perhaps you have changed your medications around? https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/semaglutide-subcutaneous-route/description/drg-20406730#drug-side-effects
Also, here is the Ozempic website, which also suggests getting in to see your doctor: https://www.ozempic.com/how-to-take/side-effects.html
Can you place that call tomorrow?
