Severe groin pain and inner thigh

I have spinal stenosis and last year went through hell worked at getting back it was hard. No surgery the neuro said I didn’t need it.
Well I got back to cane instead of walker and done good for a year but I woke up 2 weeks ago with severe inner thigh pain and groin and each step is excruciating. I have appointment for doc on 22 nd . I know the er won’t do anything because I’m already on pain meds but nothing helps it.
I was told if my bowel and bladder lost control to go directly to er . That’s going to be humiliating and pray they do something besides throw physical therapy at me again. This is making me wish it was over.

I have severe groin pain which is being referred from my degenerative hip. My hip doesn't hurt at all. You can see the structural appearance of the hip socket and the bony head of the femor simply from an xray. If it's bone on bone you can see that. An ultrasound of the hip joint and groin will show problems with the soft tissue. While an MRI will show more detail you can still see whats going on with these orher modalities. I can clearly see the femoral head and the hip socket on my xray. There's no magic wand for bone on bone. I am on an 18 month wait list for a hip replacement. I am also a massage therapist and have treated many cases like this. I can't make it go away but I can help the muscles and tendons which affect the hip.

I recently had spinal surgery in Germany. If you are able to pay for it yourself you could send your imaging and request a consult from a world class surgeon.

No wait list he said he didn’t think I needed it and he walked out of room and my pain center doc went nuts she said what I will send you to more spine doctors I said would probably say same thing and she said most male doctors in my area are condescending to woman patients and other woman doctors and I built myself up but now crashed hard.And how did your surgery go?

I also have the same issues had a TRH done three years ago this past April, Have inner groin pain, lateral hip & groin area extremely sensitive to touch have had four MRIs several x-rays doctor say no spinal stenosis, but have not ordered any new treatment to check for anything else. since my hip replacement I lean forward And cannot walk without a cane or something to hold onto and it has become worse over the last three years this week I was told it’s likely my right SI joint so they want to give me another injection through outpatient surgery said if I get even a little bit of relief, they want to fuse my right SI joint. I am concerned about having this done because what if it is not my SI joint I even asked my pain doctor for a CAT scan, ultrasound but he does not agree. Would be thankful to hear from any of you that have had your SI joint fused if it helped since my condition has worsened since my total hip replacement I keep thinking it’s related to that surgery and I could be wrong. Any advice any help would be more than appreciated.

Omg as god as my witness that is my body and it sounds like you need a new doc because that’s stenosis.

OMG, this is exactly what is happening to me and I'm going crazy! I've been having right leg groin and inner thigh pain for almost two years. I am convinced that it is a labrum issue since I too am a long-distance mountain trail runner (40 years of running!). I have begged for an MRI on that leg but none of my doctors will order it. I have been through PT and one spinal steroid injection (L2-3 TFESI) which did not help. I have been given the option of yet another steroid injection (LESI L4-5) and/or taking gabapentin (starting at 100mg and increasing to 300 mg). They too thought it was back pain, but before the steroid injection, a heating pad and PT exercises took care of the back pain, but not the groin and inner thigh pain.

@santafesuz I have had this groin pain too and it extended all the way to my ankle. I do know in my case, this is because my pelvis can shift out of alignment. When that happens I also get low back pain only on one side until I get realigned. My physical therapist showed me an exercise to do for this. If hip flexors get too tight, it makes this worse, so I have to stretch those and lay on something that mashes into it. Overly tight hip flexors can be caused by sitting too much and it's very common. This groin pain happened suddenly when I was riding my horse, and I did get off and do my exercise to realign my pelvis, and then got back on and finished the ride without pain. A PT should be looking for something like a misaligned pelvis.

It's been 4 months and I had five artificial discs implanted into my neck. Structurally the disc placement was perfect but now the muscles, tendons etc. have to change to accommodate the new discs. So I'm not magically pain free nor do I have the mobility I want so it's a work in progress. I am not rich so although I knew I wanted the surgery, I had to figure out the financial end of it.
It won't cost you any thing to fill out the form with an extensive medical history and send your imaging. You'll have a response within a few days then you can request a quote. I am sure it would also give you some peace of mind to have another opinion especially from a world class orthopedic surgeon. It might also serve as leverage with your own specialists. Although 5 discs is not a common surgery, it was an easy recovery. There were other surgeons that I checked out but only one offered the 5 artifical discs and he had the skillset and experience to pull it off.

PS I am also in the medical field and have met doctors like yours before. He sounds like an a#%.

What is the contact information for the German doctor and how did you find out about it?

I've been thinking about doing a medical trip to South Korea as they are, and I quote, "Korea is the leading country in the minimally invasive spine surgery, which is an advanced type of spine surgery and treatment." I don't want to go forward with another injection nor medication that is going to make me drowsy (I still work and I have to be 100%+ at my job).

I still don't understand why a doctor won't just order an MRI/Ultrasound of my right leg. Is it not better for my frame of mind to out rule a labrum issue than have me go through steroid injections and medications?
