Severe, debilitating bilateral hip pain

I’ve suffered from lower back pain for many years. Around January 2024, I started having lower back pain and being very stiff when I would wake up. Then 10/11/24, I woke in excruciating pain in my lower back & left hip. I couldn’t sit, stand, or walk. All I could do was scream in pain, my husband took me to the ER and they gave me a Demerol shot, Hydrocodone, & a low dose steroid pack. They did a CT scan that showed a T-12 compression fracture but the Dr said that wasn’t the cause of this pain. He asked me to follow up with my PCP the following week which I did & after some discussion she thought I probably had RA so she ordered some blood tests & an MRI of my lower back. Before I could get in for the MRI, I had another flare up except this time, the pain was in both hips and I had pressure in my groin which was unbearable. Went back to the ER and was given another Demerol shot & Percocet. Again the pain started to be manageable until the following week. When the nurse called with my MRI results she said I had a blown disc & I just happened to be screaming out in pain when she called so my husband took the phone and asked if they could see me to give me another shot and the PA got in the phone and said they don’t give shots in their office because it’s “unethical”. So my husband asked what to do because it was really affecting my quality of life. I couldn’t function. I was always in pain. I couldn’t put my clothes on, shoes on, I couldn’t even properly wipe after peeing. So they referred me to a spine Dr. The spine Dr called right away and my husband explained the situation. The spine Dr asked if I could go to my primary doctor to be treated until they could see me the following week and when my husband told them what the PA said, they said they were making a phone call to them. They called me back with the suggestion to find a new PCP but also to go to another ER and not tell them I had been to my local one. I did not go to a different ER. I just sat thru the pain until the following week. I seen the spine doctor and he referred me to an oncologist because he seen a spot on my left hip and a neurologist because I was having Tourette like spasms. The oncologist did full body imaging and blood tests and then called and said I didn’t have cancer and to have a good day. Weird but ok. The neurologist never called me and my symptoms seemed manageable so I just let it slide. In the meantime, I never heard anything back from the spine doctor either. So after suffering in constant pain with times of severe flare ups I finally went back to my PCP just this week. He diagnosed me with PMR and gave me a high dosage of steroids. I’ve taken the steroids for 2 days and now I’m having severe pain in the roof of my mouth to where I can’t even eat. It hurts to swallow. I don’t know if this is a coincidence & it’s from something else or what so I did not take the steroids today. I’ve also been having headaches and a couple days ago my left jaw was swollen and I couldn’t open my mouth. The weird symptoms seem to always start on the left side. Sometimes they go to the right side but not always. The jaw pain was on the left side only. I am at a loss. I feel like it’s something other than PMR and I feel my PCP should be referring me to a Rheumatologist. I’ve had some other strange side effects that come and go such as hallucinations (2-3 X’s & nothing crazy), visual disturbances, ringing in the ears. I’ve also been having extreme fatigue for the last 3 weeks and neck pain. My body does this popping where it feels like bubble wrap all the way down my spine and through my sternum. I feel like it flares up when the weather is changing but my PCP just kept ignoring half of what I was saying. I did go to PT also but the PT couldn’t get my joints & muscles to relax at all during one of the flares & I stopped going because it was hard to get to my appointments because I would experience pain getting in and out of the vehicle. I will add I am a recovering narcotics user. Anyone else ever experience anything like this? All my blood work seems fine-ish. Nothing indicates inflammation. Thoughts? This is really starting to affect me mentally. I’m always in pain. I have to sleep on the couch on top of pillows and elevate my legs. Most of the time I cannot lie on my sides because the hip pain gets too bad. The bubble wrap like popping doesn’t hurt but very much uncomfortable to where when it happens, I usually scream out. I can just be sitting still and it happens. I have limited motion in my neck now. Sometimes I have arm/shoulder, neck, mouth, & eye twitching. I seriously feel like I’m loosing my mind and becoming obsessed with web searching. I just want answers.
