Severe Back, Groin, Hip pain

Posted by Eric @eric1, Jul 11, 2011

A couple of years ago my otherwise healthy mother woke up one morning with severe groin, hip, back and groin pain. She has shooting pains that make it nearly impossible for her to get around. She's had a back operation, a hip replacement, physical therapy and other treatments. The current thinking is that she may have arthritis in her spine.

Does anyone have suggestions? Her (many) doctors are not coordinated but they are engaged and running low on ideas.

Tks,
Eric

My husband recently had an entire skeletal system bone scan done with radioactive injection. He has been diagnosed with Paget's Disease - a rare bone disorder that usually only affects the elderly.
This has explained all the pain he has throughout his body. The scan was ordered by his radiologist because he saw an abnormality on a CT Scan. I have been told the bone scan and/or phosphate level blood checks can test for this painful disease.

Blood test not painful, nor is scan. They numb your area being tested. I am 62. And have Padgett in my spine and 3

I had similar hip, back, and groin pain. Can’t remember exact diagnosis but part of the diagnosis involved my Sacroiliac joint.
Bottom line is I endured a 2 day back surgery where they also fused the SI joints. That was 8 years ago and I am SOO glad I endured it! If you’re interested in more info I would gladly look for my medical reports and give u more details like the diagnosis, procedure, the team of doctors and surgeons, where it was done, etc,
I was informed at the time that there were only a handful (3-4) of surgeons in the world who could perform all that was done.
As a result of the surgery I went from being non ambulatory and on a lot of meds because of severe pain to being able to walk as much as I want and a minimal amount of meds that gets lower and lower.
Let me know if u want more about the surgeries & I pray that your mom gets relief and answers SOON, in Yeshua’s name🙏🏻

Hello- I'm going through something similar, that's lasted 5 years, but been really bad the last 3 months. Can't drive, haven't left the house et... did your pain involve the back of the leg and muscle spams in the leg as well?

I've had a few negative MRIs but sacroiliac joints have been mentioned and I got the shots, but they only helped minimally.
