Septal Perforation Repair
Had a septoplasty and bilateral SMR of IT last year. Its unfortunately led me to have developed a 7.5x8mm anterior septal perforation. I've talked to quite a few doctors across the USA who are "experts" on perf repair. One pointed me down the road to a Mayo Hospital here in the Southwest.
Symptoms: whistling, occasional crusting, post nasal drip, airflow sensation feels off, sleep isnt the best, some nasal dryness.
Keen to see if anyone has had a perforation repair done? If so, what technique was used? It seems bilateral flap advancement + interpositional graft is the way to go.
Of course, the surgeon wants to outfracture a turbinate for flap clearance, so concerned with that.
Would anyone in a similar position be able to share their experience if they'd had a repair done? Appreciate it!
