Seeking rural breast cancer patient advisors for Mayo WE-CARE study
Mayo Clinic researchers are looking for 5-6 females interested in serving on an advisory board for the WE-CARE study, including breast cancer patients, breast cancer survivors, faith and community leaders, and others who work locally in their communities.
The goal of the WE-CARE study is to improve screening and clinical trial participation among women from low income and rural areas and understand the barriers to participation.
Females ages 18+ are invited to apply if you meet the following criteria:
- Are a breast cancer patient and/or survivor.
Live in a rural and/or low-income area
You do not need to be a Mayo Clinic patient to participate.
WHAT would your role be?
- Take part in 5 virtual meetings over 2 years
- Share your perspectives on barriers and reasons for mistrust in the community
- Help create a presentation on breast cancer-screening & awareness for a community event
- Gather and review survivor stories
- Guide outreach efforts to recruit people for the study
Compensation: $75 for every 1-hour virtual meeting (5 total)
