Schmidt’s Disease

Can anyone please tell me their symptoms and treatment?

@mims123 -- I did a search of Connect and was not able to find anyone discussing Schmidt Syndrome. I did find some information about the condition that mentions it's a combination of several disorders and talks about the treatments.

"Schmidt syndrome refers to the combination of autoimmune primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison’s disease) with autoimmune hypothyroidism and/or type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), and is part of a larger syndrome known as autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 2 (APS-2) or polyglandular autoimmune syndrome type II (PAS II)." -- Schmidt Syndrome and Autoimmune Polyendocrine Syndrome Type 2: https://www.hopkinsguides.com/hopkins/view/Johns_Hopkins_Diabetes_Guide/547131/all/Schmidt_Syndrome

@johnbishop - John, this is an excellent article- taught me something new in the autoimmune field.
I also noted that children with T1 diabetes should be screened for hypothyroidism and celiac disease. The 3 conditions are seen together more often than I was aware
